The customer chose Taubmans colour ‘Belgium Chocolate’. It blended perfectly with surrounding timbers including the front door and balustrade. DIY Shutters delivered and installed the panels. Congratulations to Tamy and Ishtiaq on their choice of colour and style!
The Taubmans “Belgium Chocolate” example above is one of thousands of finishes our workshop can match. When clients order custom plantation shutters, they usually send through a paint code from Taubmans, Dulux, Wattyl, Porter’s Paints, or British Paints, and we mix the finish to that specification before any panels are sprayed. No code? Send a sample of the timber, trim, or wall colour you’re matching, and we’ll work from there. Every panel leaves our workshop already finished in the chosen colour. No on-site painting, no touch-ups, no second visits after installation.
We sell the same custom-made plantation shutters in two ways. The DIY kit option arrives at your door pre-finished, pre-hinged, and ready to mount. You measure your own windows using our guide, send us the dimensions and colour, and the kit ships with all hardware included. A capable DIY-er can fit a standard window in under two hours. The fully installed option is what we ran for the Biggera Waters home above. Our team measures, manufactures, and fits. Same timber, same hardware, same finish either way. You’re choosing how much labour you want to do yourself.
Colour-matching gets the attention, but the “custom” part covers more than paint. Every panel is built to your exact window dimensions, which matters for any opening that isn’t a standard rectangle. Arched windows. Raked cathedral ceilings. Half-circle highlights above the French doors. Bi-fold combinations. Sliding door panels. Older Queenslander windows, where nothing was ever quite square. Louvre sizing is your choice too: 63mm for traditional homes, 89mm or 114mm for wider view-through. Hidden tilt rods, centre tilt, or split tilt for double-hung control. Frame styles to suit reveal-fit, face-fit, or plasterboard mounting, depending on your wall build.
